Mosaic Moment With Todd Turner #2

The comic Batman Vs Robin is a fun read. It pits Damian, under the control of the Devil Nehza, against his father, Bruce Wayne. Midway through issue #3, I turned the page to find that “Pigsy” had been captured in an attempt to steal his magic. A little box in the bottom right corner of the page stated “See Pigsy’s capture unfold in the next month’s Monkey Prince #9” I collect Monkey Prince. Issue #8 was just released 2 weeks ago. Now I know that a main character in that comic is captured before I purchase it. This drives me crazy! This happens in comics all the time. An event happens in one comic and spills into another, but the publication schedule doesnt line up, so a reveal occurs before it even happens in the original title. In this years Devils Reign, it is revealed to Elektra, that Daredevil or his brother is murdered, a month before it happens in his comic. In Marvel's Secret Wars, characters reappeared in their titles with HUGE changes before that series could end. It didn’t make sense, The Thing didn’t return, The Hulk had a broken leg (and angrier), and now Spider-Man’s suit was black? I don’t like this glimpse into the future in comics, but I find that in real life I want it all the time. What’s going to happen to my wife, my children, and my friends? Will I make it through this better or worse? I want to know. God tells us in Jer 29, 11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Don’t stop reading there. “In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.” (12,13). So, we do know the future. We can speak directly to the author of our lives and get the script before it is even published. We can get some taste of the next issue before it hits the stands. Unlike Pigsy, who ended up in chains, our story ends in good, and with hope.
